Music / Choir Director

Melinda McMahon, a mezzo- soprano and harpist, is the music/choir
director at RCC. She has been performing and teaching voice and harp
for over 25 years and her experiences cover a wide-range of repertoire.
She is a long-time member of the choral Boston-based group, "Capella
Alamire" and is an oratorio soloist. Her harp career spans orchestral,
chamber, and theatre music arenas. Mrs. McMahon is a faculty member at
UNH, Berwick Academy, and the Summer Youth Music School. She received
her BME in choral studies with a minor in harp at the University of
Kansas and her MA in music history with vocal performance emphasis at
the University of New Hampshire. She has recorded a collection of songs
with Angelynne Hinson ranging from opera duets to folk tunes performed

Organist
An
accomplished organist, David Wold has performed throughout New England,
and in Cathedrals in Montreal, Quebec; and Paris, France. In High
School, he studied with Dr. David Jones, in New Hampshire; and with
Gwilym Bevan, in Canada. He received a Bachelor Degree in Music from
the University of New Hampshire, where he studied organ with Dr. John
Wicks and John Skelton. As a post-graduate, he studied piano pedagogy
with Ruth Edwards. His attendance at many master classes includes the
Boston Organ Academy. David has over twenty-five years of professional
experience as an accompanist, choir director and recitalist; and he
maintains an active private piano and organ studio, in Dover. He is a
member of the American Guild of Organists, and serves on the executive
and planning committee of the New Hampshire Chapter. David is also an
organ instructor with the Young Organist’s Collaborative, a Seacoast
scholarship organization dedicated to introducing the instrument to
young people, and growing new organists. He has been Organist and
Accompanist at Rye Congregational Church, since 2003, and is Artistic
Director for the Abendmusik Fine Arts Concert Series, which the church
hosts during the summer.
